Not having correct angle, not being close enough, if you are using shield, you can't be holding your shield up while you are trying to backstab, that will give you just basic r1. In Dark Souls 1 I remember having a similar issue with x360ce not working with my Logitech Dual Action. I was using the latest version, and found somewhere to instead use an older version. In Dark Souls 2 I somehow stumbled into the exact same problem, so I decided to try using the old version of x360ce. Worked like a charm. The backstab has a specific "grab box" that you have to be in to activate the attack. It's basically a small trapezoid starting at your opponents feet and extending about 1-2 steps behind them. You must be in this box to activate the backstab. How do backstabs work? Pretty simple actually, you get sort of behind your opponent, press R1 and the backstab animation should start. There are a few situations where backstabs can't be landed on your opponent. These situations are: Just after getting up from a knockdown During a stun animation Doesn't make the game unplayable, but still mind boggling. the reason you still got backstabbed is not lag or latency, and to avoid it in the future you just need to understand the mechanics of how backstabs work in ds3. someone comes up to your back and presses r1, this initiates the backstab grab animation. if you get out of the initial grab hmmm that could work but in that situation its very easy to just rotate and backstab that player once they roll towards me since they are always in my face to roll towards theyd just go past me. and better than getting constantly stunlocked getting hit once vs never ending stunlocks is worth it to me :P Backstab just never works for me. I go behind the enemy, breathe down their spine press r1 while letting go of every other button on my controller… Cathedral Knight is an Enemy in Dark Souls 3 . Cathedral Knight Enemy Description. Imposing knights with helmets and chest-plates of black metal adorned with gold, their arms and legs covered in chainmail. Cathedral Knight Combat Information. There are 3 variations met in-game: using Cathedral Knight Greatsword, Great Mace, or Heavy Crossbow. Also, simply turning won't protect you from backstabs. Avoiding them is easy though. All you have to do is unlock, and walk away. It is still possible to backstab if you do this, but it is very difficult. It requires an angled backstab, and this is what I was referring to earlier when I mentioned angles are sometimes necessary. This game isn't just as Exciting. It doesn't feel like a proper souls game really. What I really want is Dark Souls 1 with Dark Souls 3 backstab mechanic. Because apart from the ultra abusable backstab system and the rather rubbish net code system Dark Souls was generally my favourite. Could do with optimising though. 269K subscribers in the DarkSouls2 community. A community dedicated to Dark Souls 2, game released for PC, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and One. TIL that you can backstab the boars. I was trying to not get hit, and I stuck by the go to Dark Souls strategy: stick by the booty. Then back stab animation started at the pigs buttocks. 56. Sort by: There is an option to change the lock on system, at this moment I cant remember where to find them but just go down the list and you will find it.Should make targeting a lot easier :D. dood23. •.
